UMW Host 4th Annual Mercantile Store

The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand the concepts of missions through participation in global and local ministries of the church. The Williams Memorial UMW has had fund raisers for this cause throughout its existence.

Our UMW has had tasting teas, dinners, style shows and auctions to raise money for supplying church kitchens with appliances and dinnerware over the years. Four years ago, Jo Hatfi eld as Projects Chair decided to change the theme and arrived at the idea of having an old fashioned Mercantile Store. It was held during the morning at our regular meeting time for three years and changed last year to the evening. Last year the store was moved to a Wednesday evening so more people could participate and we had oustanding results.

This year the store will be held on October 7th from 5-til-7 PM. We will provide fun,
fellowship and entertainment along with a Mercantile Store, Campfi re Stew
meal, silent auction and a sale of articles and food items. Takeout food will
also be available.
All monies will go to global and local missions.
You are encouraged to come out and have a good time among
Christian friends.
