My name is Russell Martin and I am the Director of the Xperience Service here at Williams Memorial UMC. My passion is leading worship and using music to show who God is, and how much He loves us. It is such a joy to work with the talented musicians, vocalists and technicians in the Xperience Service and to lead worship for such an awesome congregation.
As long as I can remember music has been part of my life. Growing up in Pearland, Texas, I was in the children’s choir, began writing songs in high school, and leading worship in college. In addition to leading worship, I also write music and have recorded four CD’s. The most recent is available in our bookstore.
In addition to overseeing and leading worship in the Xperience worship service, I also create and edit the videos we use, produce the Insight monthly magazine, and take care of our electronic communications, including the website, e-news, and church facebook page.
I live here in Texarkana with my wife Meagan, who teaches chemistry at Texas High School, and our 4 dogs and 1 cat.
I look forward to what is in store here at Williams Memorial and to finding ways we can all use our gifts to glorify God.
