Youth News- December

This December the youth are being challenged to “Change the World” by collecting spare change and canned goods. It is the junior high versus the senior high youth, with the needy children of Texarkana benefiting.

Both teams are responsible for raising funds to help make one child’s Christmas wishes come true. The winning team will be awarded an extra $50 towards their shopping budget. The canned goods collected will be given to the Society of St. Stephen’s Food Pantry. We would like to encourage all Williams’ members to support the youth by placing your canned goods in the wooden chests and dropping your change in the designated buckets located in the Welcome Center.

Also in December, the youth will have a Progressive Dinner and Christmas party on Sunday, December 13, from 5:00-7:30. We will meet in the Youth Center for appetizers and head out to various homes for soup, salad and the main course. Everyone will meet back at the church for dessert and a white elephant gift exchange. All youth interested in attending need to sign up with Courtney by December 6. Don’t miss the FUN, FOOD and FELLOWSHIP!

For all youth who are interested in attending a weekend retreat to Sky Ranch in Van, TX; we will be going Friday, January 15 through Sunday, January 17. A $25 nonrefundable deposit is due on Sunday, December 13. For more information you can contact Courtney Waldrep at courtney.waldrep@gmail.com or pick up an information packet at the Welcome Center desk.

Tommy Earl and I would like to encourage all youth who attend Williams to take advantage of the opportunities available to have fun, to learn about God, and to show love to your neighbor, including Sunday school on Sunday mornings, MYF on Sunday nights; open gym, and liturgical dance, Y.E.S. Bible study on Wednesday nights and Randy Sam’s the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
