Children’s Ministries:

Alive @ Five tonight ! Meal is Chicken Express. Helpers include Montoyas, Cindy Snell, and Night & Casie Keyes. All kids ages 4 through sixth grade are invited to Alive @ Five, which takes place most Sunday nights during the school year from 5:00 – 7:00. Cost of the meal is $4.00.

Kids Choir is doing GREAT learning the new songs for our Maundy Thursday service on April 1. We’re getting set with reading parts and solo/ensemble assignments, so be sure to be at practice!

Youth Ministries

Youth meets tonight from 5:00-7:00. Next Sunday, February 7, the Youth will host a Super Bowl Party and Chili Supper. For $5 you can eat some great chili and snacks, then stay and watch the Super Bowl on the big screen television with your Williams friends!!

Wednesday, February 3, we will have Open Gym from 5-7 and Bible Study from 7-8 p.m. in the Youth Center. If you have homework, bring it! We will have a quiet place set up to get help with homework and study. Come and bring a friend!!! Liturgical dance is at 5:30 and YES! is at 6:30.

In response to the earthquake in Haiti, the youth groups’ “Change The World” campaign for January, February, and March is going to focus on UMCOR health kits. The youth have set a goal of 500 health kits. Checks may be made out to WMUMC and write health kits in the memo section. Health kits cost approximately $12 per kit. Please consider supporting our Youth as they strive to minister to the world.

Church Ministries and Opportunities

A new Pastor’s Class is starting February 14 in Room 130 and will be led by Danny Wayman. It will take place during the Sunday School hour (9:15) for five weeks. We hope that visitors and new members will take advantage of this opportunity to fellowship together, study the Word, and learn more about Methodism. Anyone is welcome to join the group. If you don’t have a Sunday School class, this might be a good opportunity for you to ease into making Sunday School a habit.

Williams Travelers set to go to Washington. The Williams Travelers is a group of church members and friends who travel together. This spring they will head to the Amish country and our nation’s capital. April 24th – May 1st are the dates for this 6 night, 7 day trip to the Hershey Museum in Pennsylvania, Amish Country, and Washington D.C.. Points of interest include the Smithsonian, the White House, World War II Memorial, a night at the Opryland Hotel, and more spectacular sights too numerous to mention here. If you are interested in joining the trip, contact Sue or Vee at (903)832-8663. A $300 deposit is due now to reserve your spot. More information is available in the Welcome Center. Come go with us!!

Valentine’s Dance on Friday, February 12th at 6:00. All adults are invited to dinner and dancing in Wesley Hall. Live music will be provided by Stefanie Laird, Malcolm Allen, Dick Stark, and Friends, and will feature music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. This event is hosted by the UMW Princesses and their husbands. Cost is a free will offering. Sign up in the Welcome Center.

And speaking of Valentine’s Day, Good Treasures Bookstore is offering special valentine gifts to be purchased and delivered to your child’s Williams School classroom. Also available are great teacher gifts and decorated candy baskets, stuffed animals, and more!!
