Last month we offered our youth and parents the ability to receive text message alerts and reminders. We are now expanding that service to the entire congregation.

We are offering you the opportunity to sign up for two different types of alerts;

1. Emergency Alerts - With events like hurricane evacuations, and now the wildfires, Williams Memorial is often called on to host evacuees. In these times it is crucial that we get the word out on needed items, no longer needed items and calls for help. Also there are times when emergency situations affect the events and members of our church directly. For instance a decision to cancel an event due to ice /snow, strong thunderstorms and other hazardous conditions. This text message alert would be sent only when these situations arise and would contain instructions on how you can help in an emergency, or how our church events are being affected by inclimate weather. You will receive these texts only when these emergencies arise.

2. Weekly Reminders - These text messages would include reminders about upcoming events happening during the week at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church. These could be a reminder about a special event happening in church on Sunday, reminder to set your clocks back or forward, or a notice that events will not happen because of school holiday etc… You should receive these texts 1-3 times per week. (Special note. Emergency Alerts will also be sent to the Weekly reminder list.)

With each of these text messages you can stop receiving them at any time, or sign up again at any time. Instructions for how to sign up are below.
