Vacation Bible School at Williams Memorial UMC is going to be a blast this year!

The Everywhere Fun Fair

will be coming to Williams Memorial July 22 – 25 with a fun kick-off party Sunday, July 21 following the church service which begin at 10:30am in Wesley Hall. We hope you will join us that Sunday for Worship and the amazing VBS kick-off party!

Can’t make it Sunday? That’s okay we will see you Monday at the Everywhere Fun Fair! Parents bring your kids inside Wesley Hall Monday, July 22 at 9:00am if you are pre-registered for VBS. Come early if you haven’t yet registered your kids. VBS starts at 9:00am Monday – Thursday and ends at 12:00 noon.

Come ready to play fun fair games, eat fair food, sing, dance and celebrate Jesus!

UMW Plant Sale Report

The Betty Kelly Friendship Circle would like to thank members and friends of Williams Memorial for the TREMENDOUS support you provided for our annual plant sale on Aril 6th. All Circle members and many friends helped to make this effort a huge success!

After expenses were paid, we were able to share $5,000 with the following groups:

$1,000 Domestic Violence Prevention Center

$1,000 United Methodist Committee on Relief – UMCOR

$1,000 Williams Memorial Youth summer missions

$1,000 Williams Memorial Society of St. Stephens

$1,000 Texarkana Alzheimer’s Alliance in honor of Jo Ann Ward

Music and Fine Arts

Ring Sing Play, Fine Arts Camp for children going into second grade through those going into sixth grade is Monday-Wednesday August 5-7 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We will play chimes, drums, Orff instruments, we will sing and pray, fellowship and fun. This is a great way to learn music and arts, and to increase our love of the Lord. The forms will be available on the Welcome Center table this summer.

During August we will have several Fine Arts events. The first will be Tuesday evening August 6 at 7:00 p.m. It will be an evening of Vickie Al-Dubais and Sherri Waters with Musical Theater pieces, and of course, sacred pieces as well. There will be other events later in the month, so watch for those announcements.

Betty Miller and Charlotte Bedford will lead a watercolor workshop in August. Watch for the times on this event.

Our Chancel Choir will take our summer vacation July 8-August 4. We will resume rehearsals August 7 with a covered dish meal and lots of singing. Meat and bread will be provided. We not only have great singers, we have great cooks as well.

Williams Book Club
