Parent FAQs
How do I get my student involved with Williams Youth?
Good question. Tough question. It’s a little different for each student. The starting point is to introduce your student to a member of the youth staff. Express interest and make sure you’re on the mailing list, email list, and if your student has texting on their phone, we send out reminders through text messages too. Then accompany your student to their first youth function. Encourage your student to come consistently for a period of time. Also, encouraging your student to go on a special trip/retreat/event can provide a valuable time to make a connection with the leaders and the other students on the trip.
What events are available for my student?
We have many weekly, monthly and yearly events and the youth calendar page should be consulted for exact scheduling days and times, but here’s what we offer. Weekly Bible Study, Sunday school, Youth Fellowship, and Youth Band rehearsal. Once a month, we serve Randy Sams’ Shelter for the Homeless. During the summer we offer mission trips, church camp, a mystery trip, and other events.
How can parents get involved with the Youth Ministry?
Contact the staff. We’re always looking for willing adults to pray, play, lead, and serve as a part of the youth ministry. There are numerous levels of involvement, but talking with the staff can help us place you in the right role for you!
Why do we do the things we do?
We are a group committed to: Grow spiritually, in knowledge of God’s word, in our love for God, in the church, and to bring the word of God to others, an opportunity for refuge, and glory to God through our worship, missions, discussions, and fellowship. This is our mission statement.
