Wednesday November 9th

This Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. I’ll be at the Sonic on Richmond Road again. Join me for a time of fellowship.

High School Bible study meets this coming Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. in the youth center. We are on our last session,  which it titled “Go,” of our small group study “Change the World: Recovering the Message and Mission of Jesus.” Our theme for this session is “You are God’s plan for changing the world.” Our scripture is Matthew 25:31-46; 28:18-20.

After our study, we will go to the Subway on Richmond Road for a meal and fellowship. Youth need to provide their own ride and money. This is for all youth in 9th – 12th grade; both boys and girls.

Friday November 11th

Youth are going to be building the modules for our wheelchair ramp project from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot outside the youth center. If you want to help, please be at the youth center at 4:00 p.m.

Saturday November 12th

Williams youth will be building a wheelchair ramp here in Texarkana on Saturday November 12th! We will be volunteering with the Kiwanis Club, and Runnin WJ Ranch. Be at the youth center at 8:00 a.m., and we should be arriving back at the youth center by approximately 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at McDonald’s. Youth need to bring some money for snacks or a drink.

Youth will need a signed and notarized 2011 liability release form in order to travel with the youth group. These can be found in the Welcome Center, or in the church office. Jolena Hays, our administrator, will be available this week until 4:00 p.m. each day to notarize your completed form.

Sunday November 13th

Youth is this Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p. m. We are continuing our small group study on “Moral Boundaries – Dating.” Are we establishing and maintaining godly moral boundaries in our lives? Our Key passage for this study in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8.

We will gather in the youth center for a meal beginning at approximately 5:00 p. m., followed by a fun game, worship with our youth band “Broken & Perfect,” we will hear a short message concerning “Moral Boundaries,” and then we will break into our small groups. This is for all youth who are in the 7th through 12th grades. Join us this Sunday evening, and invited a friend.

Mission Trips

We are still in need of a few good men to be small group leaders or co-leaders with our Sunday night youth. If you are interested, or know of someone who might be interested, get in touch with me as soon as possible.

 Wednesday October 19th

Youth will be volunteering at the Randy Sams’ Outreach Center. Any youth that wants to volunteer, please be at the youth center at approximately 4 p.m. to help cook, we will load up at 5:20 p.m. to leave the church, and should arrive back at the youth center at approximately 7 p.m. This is for both jr. high and sr. high youth. Youth will need a 2011 Notarized Liability Release Form to travel with the youth. See Tommy Earl for your form.

 Sunday October 23rd

Youth Council Meeting 2-3 p.m. in the youth center.

Youth will meet for worship and small groups from 5-7 p.m. in the youth center. We will start off with a meal at approximately 5 p.m., worship with our youth band “Broken & Perfect,” hear a short message, and then break into our small groups. This is for all youth who are in the 9th-12th grade. Bring your Bible, and money for an offering. Invite a friend!

Summer is almost gone, and it’s time to make plans for this next year! Adults, please be in prayer for where God may be calling you to volunteer with our youth group! We need adults to volunteer the use of their homes for our small group Bible studies! We need adults to volunteer to facilitate these small groups! We need adults to volunteer to assist with these small groups! Volunteer cards will be passed out this coming Sunday!

This next year, our youth program will look like this. All youth will meet for fellowship, then worship with our youth band, then they will hear a short message from me where I will introduce their theme for the Bible study for the week, eat supper, and then they will either dismiss or head to their small groups!

After worship, some will dismiss, because their small group may not meet on that particular night! Small groups will meet in an adult volunteers home on any night from Sunday night through Thursday night! They may even choose to meet early in the morning on one of those day!

Small groups will range in size from a minimum of 5 youth to a maximum of 15! We will have 5 small groups; Sr High Girls, Sr High Boys, Jr High Girls, Jr High Boys, and I will lead a small group, at some point during the week, for our High School Jr’s and Sr’s.

Youth and adults, we need your input on a very important issue! Would you prefer to attend youth on Sunday night or Wednesday night? If we meet for worship on Wednesday nights, that would free up our Sunday night schedule for district youth rallies, fun trips, mission projects, and time with family! It would also keep us from losing a night of worship with holidays such as Labor Day Weekend, Martin Luther King weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, and such! When these holidays come around, we take off that Sunday night! If we worshiped on Wednesday night, we would still have youth!

This Weeks Schedule Of Events

***Wednesday August 3rd***

Open Gym/Fun Games this coming Wednesday from 4;30-7pm! There will be food, fellowship, and games! Invite your friends! See you this Wednesday in the youth center!

***Saturday August 6th***

The youth are going to be assisting with Stuff The Bus at Super 1 Foods! We are going to help cover the 2-3pm shift! We will need a couple of adults and at least a couple of youth! Please help us as we raise money and collect school supplies for needy students in our community! Our donations will be helping students at Dunbar and Theron Jones! See you at Super 1 Foods this Saturday!

***Sunday August 7th***

Movie Night! The youth concluded their movie Bible study last Sunday, so this Sunday from 5-7:30pm the youth will be watching the movie they have been studying; “Monty Python And The Holy Grail!” It’s going to be fun! There will be food, snacks, and drinks! Invite your friends! See you Sunday night!
