Welcome to the New Testament in 40 Days. This is a group bible study that will take us through all the verses in the New Testament between Ash Wednesday and Lent. Just a few things before we get started.

1. Anyone can still participate. We’d love for you to join our New Testament in 40 Days facebook event page, or just follow along here on the website. Invite your friends, tell others about it.

2. The readings are not short. You will need to set aside about 30 minutes per day for reading the scriptures. Please take time also to read the comments and make comments of your own. This is an online bible study, the more that participate, the more we will all learn and get out of it.

3. I have changed the format a bit to allow more people to participate. I will create a blog post, like this one, that contains the scripture reference, a link to read it online, and possibly some discussion questions. Then I will link that to our facebook event page. You are encouraged to comment on the blog and facebook. This will allow those without facebook a chance to participate in the discussion.

Ok Ready? Here we go! Click here for the first reading.

A trained dog is a happy dog. Training your dog is a great way to build a healthly relationship with your family pet. Training can also help stop destructive behaviors and bad habits before they start.

This fall we will be offering basic training classes for both puppies and dogs. Each training session lasts about 45 min and provide hands on instruction in things like basic training commands (sit, down, heel, stay), Socialization, and Canine Good Citizen test.

The puppy class, for dogs 3-6 months, will begin with an orientation session Thursday September 2, at 6:00 p.m. in room 104. The class will then run for 10 weeks beginning Monday September 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the parking lot.

The dog class, for dogs 6 months and older will have their orientation at 7:00 p.m. in room 104. That class will begin on Tuesday September 7, at 7:00 p.m. for ten weeks, in the church parking lot.

Cost for training is $50. Training applications may be picked up at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church in the Welcome Center, or by contacting Harry White at 903-792-6142 or by e-mail: harry@vandermeir.com. or Barbara 903-831-5788 email: eloc9427@cableone.net

Back To School Tailgate Party In connection with the Blessing of the Backpacks on August 22nd, the TNT Sunday School...

Back To School Tailgate Party

In connection with the Blessing of the Backpacks on August 22nd, the TNT Sunday School Class is sponsoring a Tailgate party.

We’ll grill food, put out balloons and flags, give out parking “passes”, have drink tents, food tents, and games. It all happens beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the front parking lot, so make sure and get here early.

This will be a great time to fellowship with friends, meet new people, and enjoy some great food before Sunday School. You are encouraged to come dressed in your favorite school or team jerseys and colors.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Summer vacation is almost over and it’s time to go back to school. But before you go back to school, bring you child’s backpack, and lunchbox, on Sunday August 22nd to have them blessed in our 8:15 and 10:30 worship service.

These backpacks, and lunchboxes are our children’s constant companions as they go about their school days. Therefore, it is very important to have them blessed, along with our children They will remind our children of God’s presence in our lives.

This blessing is not limited to backpacks or lunch boxes. Bring anything your child uses that is important to him or her so these, too, can be blessed.
